Every activity is one step. Here is where this one fits.
Caterpillar Crunch is a gentle garden arcade game made for our youngest learners, ages two to four. A friendly caterpillar winds along a leafy pathway and numbered leaves drift slowly across a calm garden sky. The child taps the numbers in counting order, from one upward, to help the caterpillar grow and clear each level. Slow drift speed, oversized tap targets, and forgiving timing mean toddlers can play comfortably on a tablet held by a parent. Difficulty climbs only by widening the range of numbers on screen, so the pace stays relaxed from start to finish. The game is built around three ideas from early-years teaching: recognising numerals by sight, counting aloud in sequence, and matching a spoken number to its written symbol. Each correct tap brings a soft chime and a burst of leaf particles, while mistakes stay silent and never punish the child. Caterpillar Crunch runs in any modern browser, needs no sign-up, and shows no advertising to children. Progress is saved only on the device, so families can share a tablet without any privacy worry. It pairs nicely with our number tracing worksheets for offline practice of the same numbers.
Chosen by the skills this activity practises.
A maths question is shown in large text at the centre of the play area. A timer bar begins counting down from 60 seconds.
Answer options are shown as large buttons. Tap or click the correct option. Any input method works — touch, mouse or keyboard.
Each consecutive correct answer increases your streak. A longer streak lights up the flame icon and adds a bonus multiplier to the XP you earn for the level.
Each level has 5 questions. Complete them to earn the full level reward (+10 XP, plus up to +10 XP for a perfect run). Progress is saved locally and shown on the Parent Dashboard.
Mapped to national curriculum frameworks so teachers and parents can match practice to school standards.
