Logic Masters · Ages 11 to 12
All Logic Masters gamesFill a grid of positive and negative products to see the sign rules as a pattern. For ages 11 to 12.
Every activity is one step. Here is where this one fits.
Integer Multiply Divide Grid puts a positive and a negative number at the head of each axis, so all four sign combinations appear in one small grid and the child fills every result. Seeing them together rather than one at a time is the entire design. The sign rules are usually delivered as four separate facts to be memorised, and children who learn them that way come away with a slogan rather than an idea — two negatives make a positive — which they then apply enthusiastically to the wrong operation. Negative three plus negative four becomes seven with complete confidence, because the slogan says nothing about which operation it belongs to. Laid out as a grid, the pattern is visibly about multiplying: the two same-sign corners are positive, the two mixed corners are negative, and there is nothing here that says anything at all about addition. Division grids appear from the fourth level and behave identically, which is worth a child noticing for themselves rather than being told, since it is the first hint that multiplication and division share their structure all the way down. Every cell carries a clue naming the calculation and a hint stating the rule, and the wrong answers offered are the same magnitudes with the signs flipped, so a slip in sign reasoning is caught rather than hidden behind correct arithmetic. This pairs with our Integer Add Subtract Vault, which handles the addition and subtraction cases the slogan gets wrong. Free, no sign-up, no advertising to children.
Chosen by the skills this activity practises.
A maths question is shown in large text at the centre of the play area. A timer bar begins counting down from 130 seconds.
Answer options are shown as large buttons. Tap and drag, or use the mouse on desktop. Any input method works — touch, mouse or keyboard.
Each consecutive correct answer increases your streak. A longer streak lights up the flame icon and adds a bonus multiplier to the XP you earn for the level.
Each level has 4 questions. Complete them to earn the full level reward (+10 XP, plus up to +10 XP for a perfect run). Progress is saved locally and shown on the Parent Dashboard.
Mapped to national curriculum frameworks so teachers and parents can match practice to school standards.
Everything you need to know before your child starts playing.
