About Times Table Sprint

Times Table Sprint drops children into a roaring championship sports arena where they answer mixed multiplication questions against a friendly timer to climb the leaderboard. Fast, varied recall across the times tables builds the fluency that underpins division, fractions, and beyond. It is built for ages 8 to 10 (grade 4 and grade 5) with clear instructions, large touch targets, and gentle pacing, so children can play independently or alongside a parent. Correct answers bring encouraging sounds and a small celebration, while mistakes are never punished and simply invite another try, which keeps confidence high. Difficulty grows step by step so the challenge always matches the child, supporting steady, progressive learning across the upper-primary curriculum used in the US, UK, Canada, and Australia. The game runs in any modern browser with no app to install, no sign-up, and no advertising shown to children. Progress is saved only on the device and appears in the Parent Dashboard, so families can follow growth without any data leaving the browser. It pairs well with our Smart Starters worksheets for offline practice of the same skills.

A hand for grown-ups

Before you start
Think of it as groups: "4 × 3" is four groups of three. Have something you can arrange into equal groups.
While they work
Skip-counting (3, 6, 9, 12…) is a solid way in before facts are memorised. Let them use it — speed comes later.
Afterwards
Spot arrays in real life together — eggs in a box, tiles on a floor. Rows-and-columns is multiplication you can see.
Watch out for
Treating it as harder addition and losing track. Grouping objects physically keeps the "equal groups" idea in view.
Away from the screen
Lay out objects in rows and columns and count them two ways. Cooking with doubled recipes is multiplication too.

How to play

  1. A question appears on screen

An equation with a missing answer — for example "4 + 1 = ?" — is shown in large text. A timer bar starts counting down from 10 seconds.

  2. Tap or press the correct answer

Four answer options are shown as large buttons. Tap an answer, or press keys 1–4 on the keyboard.

  3. Build your streak

Each consecutive correct answer increases your streak counter. A streak of 5 or more turns the flame icon orange and awards a streak bonus to your XP for that level.

  4. Complete the level to finish

Each level has 6 questions. Complete them correctly to earn the full level XP (+10 XP, plus up to +10 XP perfect bonus). Your progress is saved automatically between sessions.
