About Multiplication Number Line Jumps

Multiplication has three pictures worth knowing: equal groups, arrays, and equal jumps along a number line. The jumps picture is the one that connects multiplication to counting, and it is the one that makes the first factor mean something — four jumps of three is visibly different from three jumps of four, even though both land on twelve. Every question here draws the jumps above a labelled line, starting from zero, with one arc for each jump. The number of arcs is the first factor and the size of each arc is the second, so the picture states the multiplication before the child writes it. That is what keeps this worksheet distinct from ordinary times-table practice: a sheet that simply asked for twelve would be a multiplication worksheet with a line printed above it. The line scale adjusts to the size of the product, so the landing point is always readable rather than crammed against the end. Factor sizes grow across the five levels. Common questions

How is this different from a times-table worksheet?
The number line is the representation. A sheet that simply asked for the product would be ordinary multiplication practice with a line printed above it.
Does the order of the factors matter here?
Visually, yes — four jumps of three looks different from three jumps of four, even though both land on twelve.
Does the line scale change?
Yes. It adjusts to the size of the product so the landing point is always readable.

A hand for grown-ups

Before you start
Think of it as groups: "4 × 3" is four groups of three. Have something you can arrange into equal groups.
While they work
Skip-counting (3, 6, 9, 12…) is a solid way in before facts are memorised. Let them use it — speed comes later.
Afterwards
Spot arrays in real life together — eggs in a box, tiles on a floor. Rows-and-columns is multiplication you can see.
Watch out for
Treating it as harder addition and losing track. Grouping objects physically keeps the "equal groups" idea in view.
Away from the screen
Lay out objects in rows and columns and count them two ways. Cooking with doubled recipes is multiplication too.
