About 3 Times Table
Fluency in a times table is not one skill but several, and a worksheet that only ever asks the facts in order builds the weakest of them. This page works through all five. The first level walks the table in sequence, where the pattern carries the child. The second keeps that order but blanks a partial sequence, so the pattern is leaned on deliberately. The third shuffles the facts, which is the first level where genuine recall is required rather than counting on from the previous answer. The fourth asks for the missing factor, and the fifth mixes that with division — because a child who knows three times seven and cannot answer twenty-one divided by three does not yet own the fact. All twelve facts are covered. Nothing is copied from another table; the questions are generated from the table number itself, so there is no possibility of a stray fact from a neighbouring worksheet appearing here. Twelve questions per page in two columns. Each level prints as a clean A4 sheet in black and white and downloads with its own separate answer key. Its on-screen twin is Times Table Three Trail.
Common questions
- Do the levels just reshuffle the same questions?
- No. They are five different recall tasks — ordered, partial sequence, shuffled, missing factor, then division.
- Why include division questions?
- A child who knows 3 × 7 but cannot answer 21 ÷ 3 does not yet own the fact.
- How far does the table go?
- All twelve facts, from 3 × 1 to 3 × 12.

A hand for grown-ups
- Before you start
- Think of it as groups: "4 × 3" is four groups of three. Have something you can arrange into equal groups.
- While they work
- Skip-counting (3, 6, 9, 12…) is a solid way in before facts are memorised. Let them use it — speed comes later.
- Afterwards
- Spot arrays in real life together — eggs in a box, tiles on a floor. Rows-and-columns is multiplication you can see.
- Watch out for
- Treating it as harder addition and losing track. Grouping objects physically keeps the "equal groups" idea in view.
- Away from the screen
- Lay out objects in rows and columns and count them two ways. Cooking with doubled recipes is multiplication too.
