All Little Learners gamesBuild fast recall of doubles facts with timed quick-fire questions for ages 5 to 7.
Every activity is one step. Here is where this one fits.
Doubles Speed Flash is a fluency builder for early primary children learning their doubles facts. In a neon learning arena, the game flashes a doubles question — double 4, double 7, double 9 — and the child taps the answer from four options before the gentle timer bar runs down. A streak counter rewards consecutive correct answers, and wrong answers cost no time, so children build speed without anxiety. Difficulty grades smoothly from small doubles up to double 20, and the timer eases off at lower levels so beginners always have room to think. Doubles are a cornerstone of mental maths: knowing them unlocks near-doubles, halving, and quick addition, which is why short, regular practice here pays off across the whole curriculum. The game runs in any modern browser with no app to install, no sign-up, and no advertising shown to children. Progress is stored only on the device and appears in the Parent Dashboard, so families can track growth without any data leaving the browser. It pairs well with our doubles and halving worksheets for offline practice of the very same facts.
Chosen by the skills this activity practises.
An equation with a missing answer — for example "4 + 1 = ?" — is shown in large text. A timer bar starts counting down from 10 seconds.
Four answer options are shown as large buttons. Tap an answer, or press keys 1–4 on the keyboard.
Each consecutive correct answer increases your streak counter. A streak of 5 or more turns the flame icon orange and awards a streak bonus to your XP for that level.
Each level has 6 questions. Complete them correctly to earn the full level XP (+10 XP, plus up to +10 XP perfect bonus). Your progress is saved automatically between sessions.
Mapped to national curriculum frameworks so teachers and parents can match practice to school standards.
